I hope that everyone is having a great Spring term so far. I know you are preparing to go to the National Conference later this week in Austin. Sorry to muddy the waters by offering information about next years regional conference but the information needs to get out. Many of you will be interested in submitting recordings to be considered for selection for a performance at the 2010 conference. I would like to invite you to consider submitting a recording for consideration. Here are two major announcements:
1) Ken Van Winkle has graciously offered to host the Southwest Regional Conference of the CBDNA on his campus at New Mexico State University in Los Cruces, NM. The dates are April 8-10, 2010.

2) If you are interested in submitting an audition tape, please send your CD's as follows:
The recording should be 30-40 minutes in length (no longer than 45 minutes, please).
Unedited live concert recordings only from this current (2008-2009) academic year
CD case should be clearly labeled with:
name of group
conductor
repertoire (with timings preferred)

Dennis has graciously agreed to chair the selection committee and they will convene May 5th-7th. It is his intent to have the selections completed that weekend so that notifications of performing groups may be announced no later than May 15th.
I'm very excited about this conference! Please mark your calendars now - DON'T ACCEPT ANY GIGS FOR THAT WEEKEND!!!!! Plans are underway to create an exciting, informative and inspirational event. If you have suggestions for topics or presenters, please dont hesitate to submit your suggestions.
