About |
The 2007 CBDNA conference will again feature rehearsals and performance
by the Small College Intercollegiate Band. This letter serves as the
official announcement and invitation for students to apply for this
prestigious ensemble.
The experience at the 2005 SCIB at the New York City CBDNA National
Conference was marvelous, and we anticipate another superb experience
for the selected participants in the 2007 ensemble.
We are very fortunate to have as director of the 2007 ensemble,
professor and composer Frank Ticheli of the University of Southern
California. Ticheli’s compositions for wind band have set the standard
as some of the most beautiful and significant literature in the last
twenty five years of our genre. It will truly be an educational and
rewarding experience, as Ticheli prepares the following program of
repertoire with the 2007 band members:
Ticheli: NITRO, a Fanfare for Band
Grainger: CHILDREN'S MARCH
Ticheli: SANCTUARY
Grantham: BARON CEMETIERE'S MAMBO
Ticheli: SYMPHONY NO. 2
