2020 Southwestern Division Conference
The 2020 CBDNA Southwestern Division conference will be held February 19-22, 2020 at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK. Norman is a central locale in our division and the OU campus area offers a variety of performance and meeting venues, hotels, and dining options. In addition, Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City has direct flights from most metro areas throughout our division.
Our conference will again include an Intercollegiate Band, open to all students at any institution in the Southwestern Division of CBDNA. Gary Hill, Director of Bands Emeritus at Arizona State University, has agreed to serve as guest conductor and will also share a one-hour conducting symposium as one of our research sessions. The Intercollegiate Band will be rehearsing directly across the street from most of the conference sessions and there will be opportunities to observe rehearsals.
Additional information regarding our host hotel, registration, performances, research sessions, and schedule will be distributed via email as well as a website for the conference.
2020 Eastern Division Conference
February 21-22 2020; Philadelphia PA. Temple University; Dr. Patricia Cornett, host. Two days with an overall focus on small programs, but something for everyone: performances by Division groups (see below), Beth Peterson from U of Illinois leads the Intercollegiate Band, a session on the BeethovenOctet with Philadelphia Orchestra wind players and presentations covering many topics. Most importantly – there are sessions which need your input. Our goal of addressing small program challenges demands all our voices respond to those challenges.
